About Me

Born in Durango, CO, Anthony Pappas has an illustrious career path that has seen him rise from a passionate political science student to an accomplished office manager at a medical clinic. His journey, characterized by commitment, dedication, and an insatiable desire to learn, has seen him make significant contributions to research and help shape policy discussions in the international relations field.

Education and Early Career

His undergraduate journey started when he joined Norwich University in 2015 as a cadet. A strong desire to serve his country led him to major in political science. In 2017, he entered a study abroad program in Berlin, Germany, furthering his interest in international affairs. A year later, he embarked on field research in Singapore, where he had the opportunity to interact with top professionals in security and international relations, further shaping his budding career. During this period, he was privileged to attend the 17th Asia Security Summit, giving him priceless exposure and insights into global security issues.

Impressive Contributions and Projects

In 2018, Anthony began working with Dr. Sarwar Keshmiri on his book “China’s Grand Strategy: Weaving a New Silk Road to Global Primacy.” His contribution to this invaluable body of knowledge is a testament to his keen intellectual ability and dedication to his field of study.

From 2018 to 2019, he interned at the National Defense University at Fort McNair, Washington, DC. Here, he interacted with international defense personnel. He also received a graduate certificate from American University, interacting with agencies such as NATO, CSIS, and Human Rights Watch.

Pappas graduated from Norwich University in May 2019, majoring in political science. Subsequently, he contracted with the Army for Officer Candidate School and Ranger School.

Anthony joined the Veterans Evaluation Service in 2019 as a V.A. contractor. He later became the office manager at Care For You LTD, which co-runs operations and the medical clinic’s business. His role in the medical clinic culminated in 2021 when Anthony joined a Master’s degree program at Norwich University. He graduated from the Master’s degree program in Strategic Studies in 2023, finishing at or near the top of his class.

Among his proudest career moments to date was his national security simulation, conducted at the U.S. State Dept. with top national security professionals from the CDC, Department of Defense, State Department, and numerous intelligence agencies. During this time, he enjoyed meeting with members of the National Security Council, the head of the National Security Agency, the National Counter Terrorism Center, and members of the F.B. He and his team were also guests at the inauguration of Assistant Secretary of State Hellen McCarthy.

Future Plans and Aspirations

Anthony is not one to rest on his laurels. In 2024, he earned a Clinical Medical Assistant License through Advanced eClinical Training. Moreover, he is applying for Ph.D. programs in international development/security at universities in the U.K. Come May 2024, he will embark on a humanitarian mission to Guatemala—a testament to his commitment to making a difference in the world.

Passionate About Learning and Adventure

His vigorous career pursuit is matched only by his adventurous spirit and commitment to lifelong learning. Since childhood, he has been a keen skier and enjoys martial arts, backpacking, and camping. His interests extend to academic pursuits, particularly in the fields of astrophysics, climate change, and, of course, international security and relations.

Service to the Community

Anthony’s commitment to service goes beyond his professional career. He has volunteered with Adaptive Sports, the Humane Society, and Special Olympics Vermont and donates money annually to the Colorado Firefighter Association. His dedication to community engagement is a testament to his commitment to making a difference in his local community and the wider world.

Upcoming Notable events

In May 2024, he looks forward to embarking on a humanitarian mission to Guatemala. This service trip exemplifies his dedication to helping others in his career and personal ventures.
